Appointment Booking App

This case study explores the redesign of a health clinic appointment booking app used by patients, doctors, and clinic assistants. The existing desktop system lacked a seamless user experience, making everyday interactions inefficient.

The redesign focused on simplifying workflows and designing interactions that support the fast-paced environment of clinic operations.

How this app helped?

Here is how the concept developed

The Goal

To be able to handle the booking seamlessly and make the communication smooth between the healthcare personas.

Solution

This appointment booking app has clean dashboard demonstrates the booking slots for the day for four specialist doctors in the clinic with easy to understand color legends. The UI for each persona caters the need of the moment like adding new patient, booking an appointment slot, auto acceptance of the slots for the doctors. If needed Doctors can edit or cancel any appointment. The changes in the schedule are communicated to the patient via SMS.

Problem Statement

Fishing the minutes!
People find themselves unproductive due to absence of micro-level planning, so the need is to help these people to be able to control the time rather than the time controls them.

Research Process

There are many apps out there in the market but each one has a few Pros and Cons. My research goal was to understand the needs of users and what they expect the system to support them in an unpredictable scenarios. While interacting with the clinic assistants and patients I noticed the details like how frequently this app is used in a normal day and how much time does it take to complete an activity. Both Quantitative and Qualitative research methods found useful to me collecting the actual facts around.
